*Day 45 of travel
– As it was my last night, I visited a meat restaurant with the intention of finishing off with high-quality Korean food.
– It was raining steadily, so it was a perfect atmosphere to drink soju.
– Plus, it’s close to the accommodation, so it’s a huge advantage.
▶ Location
: Side dish restaurant (บานจู โคเรีย บีบีคิว)
– 66/4,201 Mille Malle 2nd Fl, Sukhumvit 20 Alley, Klong Toei, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110 Thailand
▶ Visit date: 230825 (Fri)
▶ Number of people: 1
▶ Final cost: approximately 150,000 won or more per person
– A lot of alcohol is ordered with soju, so the unit price is high.
▶ Menu: (5 items including soju and beer) It was stir-fried squid, kimchi stew, and two pieces of pork belly, and I don’t remember if I ordered anything else.
▶ Personal evaluation and impressions
– The staff was very friendly, the young Thai man who went around the table served with a bright image, and the young-looking female server who grilled the meat faithfully fulfilled her responsibilities. I felt like he was a fairly well-educated employee. : Are we aiming for Michelin here? Thoughts
1) The egg rolls served as a side dish were ordinary, but neatly prepared: it was disappointing that the egg shells came out.
2) Kimchi stew was more of a stew than a stew. : The clear soup uses meat without any fat, and has a sweet and sour taste, but it does not have the sharpness and thickness of Korean-style kimchi stew, so I think that actual Koreans who come and eat it expecting Korean food may be quite disappointed, and I am also a bit disappointed. I’m out of steam.
3) The stir-fried cuttlefish was not bad, but it was below expectations compared to the same price at a Korean restaurant. : The sweet taste was greatly emphasized, and the onion was dominant compared to the relatively large bowl.
4) 2 servings of pork belly: I ordered 2, thinking it would be 2 servings, but the portion was quite generous. The quality of the meat was good, and although I still need to hone my skills, I was thankful that the meat was grilled with care.
– (As expected) there were an overwhelming number of foreign tourists, and it appears that efforts were made to captivate their taste buds by mildly seasoning the dishes and increasing the sugar content.
– On the other hand, for Koreans, it should have a deep taste and a stimulating effect in a way compared to the high price, but it was disappointing because it wasn’t there.
– This restaurant feels like it will be a one-star restaurant in the future after receiving the Michelin Guide. It has significance as fine dining to change the mood, but I don’t think it is a dinner to appease the nostalgia of Koreans.
– I didn’t have enough baht in cash, so I paid with a card and then paid in cash. So the cost is expressed in Korean Won.
– I thought that the amount I ate would probably be enough for 3 women and 2 men.
– It’s nice to come here with your parents, wife, family, relatives, and close friends, but it’s not a restaurant you’ll frequent often.
– There are a lot of customers and employees, but the movement route is complicated and it doesn’t match the store atmosphere and unit prices, so it feels complicated and crowded.
– I didn’t feel “strong impression = punch” while eating the food, I just felt like I tried hard and that I worked hard.
– As mentioned above, if you don’t have anyone to eat with, I don’t really recommend it to people like me who come and eat alone. It’s not that it’s not delicious, but it’s not tasty.
Positive User: Good vibes here. Tasty dry aging pork. Not many side dishes of Korean BBQ as usual. They should give more variety of side dishes.
Positive User: One of the better Korean BBQ restaurants we have been to. The Korean chef also passed a course at Le Cordon Bleu so understand the better detailed decor. The taste is good, kimchi yummy, service efficient. Desserts delicious.
