Positive User: Gets very busy in the evening so book. But you can see why. Everything here is amazing. Great Pad Thai, very fresh and spicy dry fried green curry and super crispy fried fish salad.
Positive User: Restaurants in Soi Thonglor
Positive User: Thai restaurant in Thangalor – arrive earlier if you don’t like to wait in a long line. The place is small but neat and clean, the food taste amazing. If you don’t mind the heat, can sit at their outdoor seats.
Unique about this place is the interior design, decorated with lots of comic figurine.
Four Stars
Positive User: Thai-southern cuisine with home style decoration & space is ready for delivery. There are many rice & noodle for lunch to order. The taste is good.
Positive User: One of the few places where you can eat Khao Yam in Bangkok.
The portion size of one item is small.
Positive User: Low key local restaurant with menu encompassing dishes from different parts of Thailand. Food tastes really good, place has lot of traffic as a proof. It takes some time though to see order arriving at your table. Service is kinda slow too.

Neutral User: Very Thai food! Thai southern dishes.
Very spicy dishes if you order as Thai’s taste
You should address no spicy when you make the order to make sure you are fine with the food.
Reasonable prices, particularly in that area.
We visited few times
Sometimes we can’t find the parking lot
Sometimes we have the parking but we don’t have table to sit…
Alternatively nowadays we can order online and delivery to our place, estimate time is an hour.
Neutral User: Southern food that is sweet Strong flavor but not mellow. But the price is very cheap compared to restaurants in the same area.
Neutral User: Thai food for reasonable prices off Thong Lor main road. We went with green curry, fried noodles and Som Tum. All were ok. They used Thai spiciness which might be too much for some. Drinks on the other hand (Thai milk tea and lemon tea) were so sweet that they were almost undrinkable. Their affordable prices reflected in the dish portions, Som Tum and fried noodle were quite small. Service was not very attentive and a bit chaotic. They forgot to bring us two items, but charged as one of them.

Negative User: I don’t know what it would have been like before, but it wasn’t a very pleasant experience. We ate outside due to the bad smell when we entered.
The clerks overall seem unmotivated to cook or respond.
The pad thai noodles were lumpy, the tom yum was too salty, and the som tam tasted old.
Negative User: Food is extremely average but I guess you get what you pay for with such cheap dishes for an area like Thong Lor. The papaya salad was okay, the sweet and sour shrimp was surprisingly good, but the green curry lacked flavour and the plum juice was the saltiest drink I’ve ever tasted. The portions are so tiny and we had to order two plates of rice (we were only two).
No alcohol is served and I think that’s because the staff don’t want the customers to stay longer than necessary. Lights were turned off in the outside seating area and things were being packed away while we were still eating (30 mins before closing time). The wing bean salad and lime juice was unavailable however, that might have been a blessing in disguise.
I can concur about the strong fishy pungent stench that hits you the minute you walk into the restaurant. There is an award displayed outside, but I think that could have been from several years ago. In summary, don’t waste your time going to Khao Jao and do yourself a favour by spending a little more and enjoying delicious Thai cuisine elsewhere in Thong Lor.
