  • Positive User: Came here for weekday lunch with my partner, we had the 9 course meal (about SGD 150 per pax) and it was 5/5. Quite an empty restaurant at that time (12+) so food came quickly as well. We mostly enjoyed the trevally (in picture). Dessert could have been better though!

  • Positive User: A great place for french cuisine im Bangkok. It’s situated on the second floor of the U Sathorn Hotel tucked in a quiet street of Sathorn road. The hotel is beautiful itself, making you feel like you are in a resort outside of Bangkok. The restuarant is nicely decorated and the seating are very comfortable. The food is classic french. Everything is on point. I love their prawn dish, very tasty and perfectly executed. Will definitely come back for a full meal and dining experience. 9/10 from me, well done guys.

  • Positive User: Amazing 9 course dinner with incredible staff and an awesome Chef.

  • Positive User: One of better deals for Michelin starred restaurants around Bangkok. We went for a journey menu with wine pairing. All was quite good with sea bass and foie gras being the highlight. Main dish, pigeon was tasty as well, yet portion was small for a main dish. I would suggest adding soft bun (brioche) to bread selection. Thai cheese platter was interesting and worth paying extra, yet cheese portions were very small. Wine pairing was decent, no single glass below average. Service better than last time we visited, good explanation given for all dishes we had. All in all, memorable experience.

  • Positive User: To be honest, my tongue did not get used to the flavour of the food. Most of them were new experience for me.

  • Neutral User: Food here is pretty much hit or miss. Umemadai was super delicious but the prettiest dish—veg ravioli w coffee—was disgusting. Loved the duck fat that came with bread

  • Neutral User: We got well attended through the dinner. The room felt splendid especially as it was not crowded by visitors. Food was like standard but not yet impressive. And the portion is too filling, even the smallest set.

  • Neutral User: We were there on the Christmas’s eve. As soon as you arrive to this place inside this gorgeous hotel, you will be greeted with kind and helpful staffs. Go up on the second floor and you’ll arrive at the restaurant. Staff was again very enthusiastic and polite, helping us understand what’s going to be served next. That was probably the best part of the experience. The food, however, I could not say the same. We spent a total of around 8k per person, including a selection of 5 wine bottles, and they were wonderful. I could not say the same for the food unfortunately. Some dishes are a hit and miss, depending on your experience with fine dining. My friend says that it is best if you come here during non-festive times because probably the chef was trying to overdo the cooking and the presentation but sadly they did not taste good.

  • Negative User: I was here for dinner on Bastille Day and the restaurant I would say left me wondering which aspects got it the One Star. There were a couple of the dishes that were quite good, such as the frog leg, the beefless bourginon, and the cheese-based amuse bouches. And the fish. However, some dishes, claiming to use locally-sourced ingredients, meant that the flavours were average, such as the chocolate dessert and the pigeon. Also they don’t make their own breads and mignardises. The server said it is purchased from Amantee Bakery. It was cold and hard, but served with Lorain’s own butter, lovely macadamia nut butter, and a strange fish sauce paste. The servers spoke mainly in Thai, so I didn’t know how the meal worked and how to order, but thankfully, they explained each course in English. Nobody offered coffee or tea, and at one point for a few minutes there was no server in the dining room. Fortunately, the restaurant was decorated tastefully.

  • Negative User: I really wanted to love my meal at J’aime. I read great reviews and I was on the waitlist for Christmas lunch. Marine was very so helpful and communicative in keeping me updated on the status. Walking through the lobby of the U Sathorn Bangkok was nice, and that was pretty much the highlight of the afternoon. There was no greeter at the front of the restaurant. My friends and I walked in and a server sat us down and gave us the menu. He immediately asked us if we wanted unlimited water and soda. I asked if I could just have water, that I didn’t drink soda. Unfortunately he didn’t understand. We asked if coffee and tea were included in this unlimited water option, which it was. We ordered three teas with milk, sugar and honey. The milk, sugar and honey never came, and we had to ask for it three other times, our third time to another server. We had to ask for water refills several times throughout the meal, which came in small water bottles. If you have unlimited water as an option, there should always be a full bottle at the table. No one walked us through the menu and how it would work. We said we were here for brunch and our server took our menus and said they would bring out brunch. A charcuterie board with smoked ham, chorizo iberico, homemade duck rillettes, truffle beef and black garlic aspic, homemade pork and garlic roulade served with mustard dressing was brought out. There was also sabayon gratinated oyster, cod mousse on toast with sun-dried tomatoes (tasted like hummus), crab cocktail with a fantasy of carrot and ginger, herb salmon gravlax, brioche and seaweed butter and a cup of lobster soup covered with a puff pastry shell (which had very little soup in it). This spread was typical for an afternoon tea, didn’t know whether or not there were any main courses after this, as every table in the restaurant had the same h’orderves spread. We asked two attendants if there was to be a main course. They both said yes but failed to mention what and when we could order. Someone finally came over with the menu and took our main course orders. We waited 40 min+ for our mains and Marine did come over and apologize that there would be a delay because the kitchen was overwhelmed by the number of orders. But isn’t that bad food management? Shouldn’t the kitchen be able to accommodate for all orders based on the number of reservations a restaurant have? My piancha-seared rock lobster was a tiny morsel, hardly a “main” for brunch. I ordered meuniere-style cod fish and poached egg pan seared mushroom. It was only after three “mains” that I was full. The desserts were also lacking, one cup of mixed sugared fruits, reminiscent of canned fruit, along with poire belle helene, millefeuille napoleon and strawberry and basil vacherin that left me wanting more pain au chocolat that was served at the start of the meal. This was a very disappointing meal, especially while abroad and on Christmas. The service is poor, there is far too much wait time in-between dishes and drinks (brunch lasted 3+ hours, and not by choice and from a good time), and the food was mediocre at best.

  • Negative User: Unfortunately J’AIME was disappointing. From the food to the service and the seating. They serve you small plates that although taste OK doesn’t feel like eating real food if you enjoy eating a proper meal you might want to reconsider this place. I did not appreciate the beefless bourguignon that I saw another reviewer say was excellent. The service was quite amateur. I will not be returning.

  • Negative User: Very bad experience and quality. There is a metal staple inside one of the course.

  • Negative User: Big expectations, terrible experience. Fish spines in the fish; hard fois-gras; not much attention from staff. We just wanted to have a proper wedding celebration dinner in 2020, but it just wasn’t great, despite my friends strong recommendation. Maybe they were in a bad day. I should have left this review at the time…

  • Negative User: Good food let down by bad organisation. Still waiting on my deposit a week after the meal.
