Positive User: A really nice Thai house converted into a restaurant. The owner is a Thai female chef married to an Australian so the dishes are more modern with a Western twist. They only do set menu at same price for lunch and dinner. Since there are quite a number of courses, I’d suggest you to save at least 3 hours here. But overall worth the visit!
Positive User: Great experience! Fantastic food and very attentive staff. We liked it Thai spicy. Don’t worry, this does not mean that every dish is spicy. They balance the menu.
Positive User: This is my most favorite meal I’ve ever had. I love trying restaurants everywhere I go, this was amazing. Absolutely insane experience. I’ll be dreaming about this for years.
When I went (November 2022) they were on a reduced schedule post-Covid and only open a couple days a week for an amuse bouche tasting menu, pre-fixe. See menu photos, attached. With 2 drinks it came out to about $180 USD each, 6,800 baht each.
The meal started with a pandan water, followed by a spoonful of rice with coconut sugar and a local piece of fruit and a conversation with one of the owners. We felt greeted and felt so lucky to be there. The first couple rounds were small little single bite lovely pieces, it took us on a total journey. It felt nostalgic for a childhood in Thailand ive never known. The restaurant used to be a house I think and it just feels like you’re at your cool friend’s dinner party. They’re truly doing storytelling and sharing the local land and flavors with you here.
The amuse bouche is followed by individual and family style plate main course, this was insane. It was so much food. We came hungry and we still couldn’t finish it. We felt defeated hahaha. I wish I had room in my tummy, we just couldn’t do it.
This was followed by a beautiful cardamom forward tea full of a ton of gorgeous things I can’t remember, and then a pre dessert little tender cookie, and then little bits and pieces of 2 rounds of small and gentle dessert assortments. Absolutely beautiful end to a hugely flavorful meal.
I loved everything about Bo.Lan. If you live here or if you’re just visiting, it’s a must.
Four Stars
Positive User: Finally tried the world renowned Bo.Lan. The staff was professional, friendly and also all guests were invited to try the first bite in the kitchen which only help close the distance between the chef-owner and guests, very ingenious and thoughtful.
I ordered the “light” set menu and please don’t be fooled by its name, because I think the overall portion – including a very hearty dessert plate – was quite large. Also, they offer “free flowing” water which if I remember correctly is water sourced locally and with minimal carbon footprint. It’s a very good cause and I wish I’d known before they asked me if I wanted still or sparkling water.
Overall the creativity and presentation is off the chart! Organic vegetable tasted naturally sweet without any additives, beef curry with relish was such a heavenly match! And the stewed pork with winter melon (I could be wrong) reminded me of my moms cooking only way more delicate.
The dessert plate was full of surprise and they were all delicious I just wish I had more stomach room to enjoy them properly.
Positive User: Great experience night at Bo.lan. All dishes taste is special, ingredients picked are particularly. Some comments which I may expect too much with Bo.lan that it can be better. Yellow crispy on starter dish is not fully crispy and too thick, feel like it made for too long, I hope it didn’t make from yesterday cooking. Sai-Ow taste is special but it was so cold, feel like made it, kept in freeze and warm it up as same as coconut Saku and prawn salad on ChaPlu leaf. Feel not fresh make. We pay for a neat and fresh preparation for this kind of special place. Again, all dishes taste are lovely and unique but it could be better to make it more special before serving.
Positive User: Beautiful house. Perfect service. Seatings can be a bit more private as this is a Michelin star restaurant after all.
Overall I really liked presentation and variety of food. Some dishes were a bit too spicy for me but maybe it’s just me. Booking required (as you can imagine).

Neutral User: It’s been a while since I went there, but I’m a little disappointed. I wasn’t sure if it was delicious or not. The staff’s attitude was very nice, but the food was very tasty, so I won’t be staying here for a while.

Negative User: This is our second visit (1 before and 1 after pandemic), the whole dinner experience was very disappointing and there was no innovation in the food we had. It is not worth the money anymore. During the whole dinner, me and my partner were reminiscing the fun experience we had. Now it is only a diner within a grocery store/cooking school. The experience was gone but the price stayed. We checked the photos we took a few years back, the menu in theory was identical. There were no “wow” factors in the tasting menu, the food was ordinary to the point that we were served a mini version of papaya salad with rice noodles, only the papaya was sliced like wide zuccherini pasta. The texture didn’t even go with the thin round rice noodles… we were asked to mix them in this little volcano dish to get all the flavours… The intention was non-existing apart from making 50baht to 500baht. I must say the ladies working there were nice but we have never been to a fine dining experience where 3 ladies consistently rotating and checking/serving us. We sat down and we were thinking about whether we will get the wine pairing so we got a cocktail to start… then a welcome drink came, our cocktail came and the first appetiser drink came… different ladies every time… we didn’t even get asked for our choice with/without pairing. We felt rushed, it was less than an hour when we were served our main dishes. When we were just talking and drinking, we got asked if we were finished “twice” by two different ladies within a small time frame. We understood pandemic caused a lot of changes but we have seen a lot of restaurants having more innovative ways to enhance their experiences post-pandemic… if Bo.lan wants to be a cooking school with grocery store, let it be that. Don’t charge the same price as pre-pandemic and erase the fantastic experience which made it what it was.
Negative User: I was in Bo.Lan with a very high aspectation, aspecting to try a refine/Autenthic Thai Cousine , but i think Netflix destroy the good base they build in the past.ambient outside and entrace good, restaurant himself dark and sad…Staff friendly, not realy prepared but …. Amuses and starter good almost till the end , with the lycis start the experience slowing down. . main course ( all at ones fulling the table) everage and i think they need to review the temperature everything cold. We had wine paring and they serve 2 glass at the same time , 1 red and 1 white… Enjoy and choose 😂. Curry with what thei called Seabass,no comment , fish was impossible to cut, watching the other tables same story ( no knife on the table). Pork belly with gum kind of raw skin. Pre dessert and “dessert “, no comment. Sound that Every course it’s base on coconut and shrimps paste and ginger. Menú never change, and it’s 1…Nice the chili. Was not an Experience at all and an we paid an Amazing price that for respect i will not mention. wine pairing ( all open bottles and all dinner they serve us the end of the bottle, realy unbilivable 🙏🏻). Anyway what to do , everything become just a business a certain point. Bo was not there her husband yes, nice to see him at the begining and after no interaction anymore.. and they have just few tables, that can make a different i believe…
Their own Tea, was spectacular flavour.i think should be a store and not a Restaurant… But just an opinión.
One Star
Negative User: Very disappointed about the quality and taste of the food . I guess I was expecting something more innovative and polished . It is not worth the price . I don’t mind paying for amazing food, but I think tasting menus are a cop out ! It’s boring ! I think it’s pure laziness on the chef’s behalf … it’s sort of like running on autopilot! The kitchen was filled with their minions cracking out the same thing ! I’ve had better Thai food at the hawker centers in Singapore. The desserts were the worst!
I feel they are doing a disservice to the local growers by not executing the ingredients in a more elevated menu. This place is gimmick! Will not be returning.
Negative User: Awful experience in Bo.lan. Beautiful place but the menu is completely out of balance. Sugar excess which concludes in absolute saturation of senses. Scratched tables (inadmissible in a two michelin star restaurant). The three best things: the welcome cocktail crackers, the main host and the water.
Negative User: As somebody who has enjoyed many Michelin Star restaurants across the globe I had high hopes. Sadly this is one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been, Michelin or not. Most of the food was too spicy despite ordering mild, the desserts are inedible. I’ve had better Thai food on dingy street corners. I would give this a negative 1 review if I could. Avoid at all costs. Ruined my last day in Bangkok on what otherwise was an amazing stop on my honeymoon. Do everyone a favor and close shop immediately before other tourists fall victim to your scam. $300USD foe the above mentioned luxuries.
